I’ve been writing down monthly intentions or goals to help me develop habits and focus in on what is important. Many of the things listed are daily/weekly/monthly habits I’m seeking to maintain or grow in.
The goal is not to obtain perfection, but to make steady progress…and months when there isn’t any progress, to give myself grace and start again the next month. That is my hope for you too as you strive to form intentions around what is important to you.
Each post of intentions has:
- a recap of the previous month’s goals: things that went well and things that were challenging
- a reflection for the month
- top 3 popular posts from the previous month
- top 3 things I was grateful for from the previous month
- my monthly intentions in the spiritual, personal, household, writing/blogging, and relationship areas.
Interested in setting your own goals or intentions? I would highly recommend Victoria Osborn’s Goals With Grace program. This program helped me get clear on my priorities and write goals accordingly. Read about my experience here: How to Move from To-Do Lists to Priority Based Goals.
In the beginning…
I’ve been focusing on growing my healthy habits for over three years now. I started by trying to get daily movement in my life. That was it. I didn’t have a morning routine, my house was cluttered, my bed wasn’t made, and I had no clue what a meal plan was.
If that’s where you are, don’t give up thinking you’re “just not into routines.” Just take one habit at a time. Routines and systems will make your life so much easier. I wasn’t convinced of that three years ago, but now I am.
When you have one habit established, move on to the next one. For more detailed information about starting healthy habits, check out my eBook and audiobook HERE.
