We’re entering the third week of the MinsgameBOSS – double digits from here on out. Yikes! A quick summary of the game is that you get rid of 1 item on the first day of the month, 2 items on the second day of the month, and so on until you get rid of 30 items on November 30. If you’re doing it as one person, at the end of the month you will have let go of 465 things. If you’re trying to get your family of 5 to do it with you, you’re
foolishly ambitiously trying to get 465 x 5 = 2,325 items out of your home.
Week 1 Recap in Pictures:
We had full participation by the whole family through week 1. That means we donated, trashed, recycled 140 items in the first week of the minsgameBOSS!
Week 2 Recap in Pictures:
I did days 8, 13, and 14 solo, but the rest of the other days we did as a group. In Week two, we recycled, donated, or trashed 245 items.
Adding the items from week 1 and week 2 together gives us a grand total of 385 items for the minsgameBOSS so far. Whew!
It’s going to be a challenge to keep the family engaged throughout the rest of the month, but I’m going to do my best. It’s difficult to motivate every other member of the family to participate every day, so I’ve been working with one or two of my sons to go through books and toys together.
My husband has been really engaged in the process when he participates and that has been really encouraging to see. For days 10 and 11, he took all the cd’s off our cd rack and put the cd’s into a binder that we have. We recycled over 105 cd cases.
The daily game has made me more aware of my surroundings and motivated me to deal with the small piles that are still sitting around. My hope is that in the next two weeks we can make a couple of family efforts in the basement and make our numbers for the month. I’m posting daily photos on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. I’d love you to follow along!
